What is KYLA?  The Kansas Youth Leadership Academy (KYLA) is a state-wide, comprehensive, and all inclusive program designed to promote youth leadership development. Today, our young people face many personal challenges, and the negative influences in their lives can be overwhelming. In a society that sometimes rewards selfishness and passive attitudes, we must encourage young Kansans (12-18 years old) to, first, live safe and healthy lives with strong character, and second, be active community members who serve as life-long citizens.

?The Kansas Youth Leadership Academy (KYLA) encourages young Kansans to be active community members and provides leadership training programs that will be valuable to you throughout your life. Leadership knows no age limits. There is no license to obtain it. No written test to pass. The test for a true leader is one that is presented every day, in nearly any situation. A true leader has courage and commitment. I would encourage you, as one our future leaders, to take advantage of the valuable training offered by KYLA.?
