Classroom lesson instruction will be impacted as students take class notes using Livescribe Pen. This tool records the text being documented along with the audio portion of the classroom lesson. Students will learn to be more efficient in note taking and more self-reliant as they assess the important aspects of lessons.
Police station, train set and fire station Duplo Lego Manipulative sets will serve as teaching tools for students of several age groups. Cognitive, language, problem solving and numerous other learning objectives can be achieved with these developmentally appropriate manipulatives.
An environment of the recommended amounts of moderate to vigorous physical activity needed for health and well-being is created through Fitness Skillastics. This program teaches fitness components and basic movement skills while encouraging cooperation and teamwork. Its ultimate goal is developing positive exercise and nutritional habits that will last a lifetime.
Manipulatives help students visualize math concepts and move from concrete to abstract thinking. Math Manipulative Toolkits will enable students to engage in concrete, hands-on and interactive learning experiences with family members.
Students will become active through songs, actions, pictures and games as the classroom is enhanced utilizing Math Facts. This program will include stories, pictures, songs, manipulatives and activity sheets to reinforce basic math facts in the classroom and at home.
The We Both Read book series was designed to foster parent involvement with their child’s reading in an interactive format. This series includes a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books and reading levels as it helps increase comprehension and fluency.
Students will gain an appreciation of reading and writing with Go Phonics. Through this program, phonemic awareness, phonics, reading, comprehension, fluency, grammar and other literacy skills will be enhanced. These sequenced stories will give students a continuous practice of skills that they have already learned and provide building blocks for literacy. A songbook and CD will help students retain the concepts they were taught through singing songs, chanting raps and reciting poems.
Ladybug Land, Living Anthill Habitat, Praying Mantis Pagoda, Cocoonz Excavation Kit and Butterfly Pavilion are some of the science centers of KIDS (Kids Investigation and Discovering Science). Students and parents will be actively involved through hands-on, interactive, challenging and fun experiments. These centers will stimulate their curiosity, foster creative expression and accumulate the skills needed for science in early life.
Students can join in on the fast-paced learning fun with Classroom Jeopardy II with scoreboards, team remotes and game storage cartridges. This program will engage students in their own learning which leads to an increased retention of concepts.
Art and Literature Anthology will provide real world learning opportunities for students. This program will create a group of analytically skilled students who write and will be able to select quality writing and artwork worthy of publication. Student teams will assemble the publication for print then sell the publication with the goal of creating an annual self-funding program.
Digital Media is a collection of DVDs and videos that meet the needs of a “plugged in” generation. Learning styles change with technology. Students gain many life skills through literature. Classical literature in any form holds universal truths. Literature helps build that connection. This program will enrich, support and broaden a student’s experience. Also, these educational tools will broaden and provide a framework to build competent readers.
Bringing the Music Home will integrate the music experiences at home with those in school to create a music-making community that supports a student’s language, cognitive, emotional, social and physical development. Musical activities at school and home will incorporate developmentally appropriate experiences to reinforce the classroom curriculum.
Students will learn about the world around them through participation with others in activities that foster experimentation, problem solving and social interaction. Expanding on the Science Curriculum in the preschool classroom by capitalizing on the student’s fascination with the world around them, this program will foster language and literacy development by using the student’s natural interest in science.
